From bespoke civil engineering and M&E projects to plant hire and complex airport projects. Originated in 1829 Charles Brand had a strong track record in Tunnelling, Railway, Marine and Civils sectors having completed projects at London Underground, Ben Crom Dam at Silent Valley, M1 Motorway at Grosvenor Road and multiple Flood Defence Schemes, Ports and Water Treatment Plants creating a strong brand in the UK, Ireland and Internationally. Charles Brand are currently working on a range of exciting projects, including fibre installation across GB within our telecommunications division and various civil engineering projects within our civils division. We have recently been awarded a NI Water IF106 Framework and the Translink FW073 Framework. Role Overview As Assistant Project Manager (APM) you will be responsible forco- ordinating with different departments to ensure projects are completed on time. You will also be responsible for performing administrative tasks such as building estimates and scheduling meetings as needed. Ultimately, you will work with various teams and stakeholders to monitor project progress and provide oversight to ensure projects are completed promptly and within budget. What you'll do Complete any tasks assigned by the Project Manager in an efficient and timely manner. Perform other duties assigned by the Project Manager orderly and efficiently. Keep track of report on project progress. Confirm programme of works against permits and release the approved works to sub-contractors with all required detail. (Works location, TM details, Permit details, Works required, Work Packs etc) Weekly review of previous weeks forecast. Ensuring measure is received and staff have uploaded works onto the IMS. Ensuring the works that do go on IMS have a clear path to payment. Review of weekly and daily whereabouts for compliance & ensure Engineers/Crews are in the correct areas. Ensure R1 closures are complete by liaising with both build and in-house works control team. Completing actions that arise from the weekly meetings. Reporting works completion and additional constraints and works progress. Dealing with day-to-day issues that arise on site, (Strike reports, customer issues, permit issues etc) As Built documentation review & sign off. Programming works for sub-contractors to ensure works are complete within the Milestones and Defect numbers remain small. Completing and Issuing design variations that arise throughout the week. Permit and work pack request to ensure these matches the programme of works. Attend weekly programme reviews with fibre and programme managers. Weekly walkover with client to review previous weeks works and ensure all defects are captured. Weekly walkover with Supervisors to ensure they are aware of the plan of works for the following week. Essential: Be highly organised and be able to multitask and oversee projects simultaneously. The ideal person will come from a utilities or construction background with experience in infrastructure related projects. Ability to use qualitative and quantitative analytical skills to meet objectives, working independently with minimal guidance and supervision. Ability to communicate effectively with senior managers and programme team contacts, both internal and the client. Strong written and communication skills with a high level of proficiency with MS Office, MS SharePoint, MS Teams Full UK driving licence. Experience of working in/designing around the Openreach network and a strong knowledge of PIA is desirable. Working towards PRINCE2 Registered Practitioner / PMI / PMP / CAPM or similar qualification GIS/ AutoCAD knowledge or similar system knowledge to include Deponet or Apex. Hold a current H&S Qualification to include Nebosh, IOSH or similar. Hold a CSR / CSCS or similar site card. NRSWA / Street works qualified. Have completed a S.L.G Traffic Management Basic course.
