Carmichael UK is recruiting an experienced Site Engineer to support delivery on a major HS2 infrastructure package in Buckinghamshire. This role will suit an engineer with a strong all-round civils background, particularly across earthworks, drainage, and structures, who is comfortable working in a fast-paced site environment on a large, complex project. The Role You will support the day-to-day engineering delivery of works on site, ensuring activities are set out accurately and delivered in line with design, programme, and HS2 standards. Working closely with site management, section engineers, and subcontractors, you will play a key role in maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and assurance across multiple workstreams. Key Responsibilities Setting out for earthworks, drainage, and structural works Managing QA documentation, ITPs, and as-built records Supporting subcontractors with technical guidance and site control Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with drawings and specifications Assisting with permits, temporary works, and site coordination Maintaining health, safety, and environmental compliance Liaising with design, planning, and commercial teams as required About You Proven experience as a Site Engineer on major civil engineering projects Strong background in earthworks, drainage, and structures Confident with setting out equipment (GPS / total station) Experience managing ITPs and QA processes Experience on rail, highways, or major infrastructure schemes preferred CSCS card essential (SMSTS beneficial) Proactive, organised, and able to work independently
