Employment Specialist
Location: Manchester
Salary: Up to £29,000 per annum
Contract: Full-time
Reed Further Education is looking for an Employment Specialist to join a team and deliver high-quality, person-centred support to individuals with mental health conditions.
About the Role
As an Employment Specialist, you’ll work closely with participants to understand their aspirations and help them secure and sustain meaningful employment. Using the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) approach (training provided), you’ll provide tailored advice and guidance, build strong relationships with employers, and collaborate with clinical teams to promote employment as a positive step in recovery.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage a caseload of clients, supporting them through job search, CV writing, applications, and interview preparation.
* Deliver IPS services to individuals seeking work or struggling to retain employment due to mental health challenges.
* Build partnerships with local employers and negotiate job opportunities that match clients’ strengths and preferences.
* Provide ongoing in-work support to ensure job retention and career progression.
* Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with data and safeguarding protocols.
What We’re Looking For
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Experience in employer engagement and supporting individuals into work.
* Ability to work independently and meet targets in a fast-paced environment.
* Understanding of mental health conditions and barriers to employment.
* Experience in guidance, advice, or vocational rehabilitation is desirable.
