We have a fantastic opportunity for a Head Receptionist to join our team here at The Veterinary Hospital and Surgery in Gorleston and Lowestoft.
This is a full-time position, working 40 hours per week across both sites.
Monday - Friday with a share of the Saturday rota: likely 2 in 7 but can be discussed at interview.
As a Head Receptionist, you will provide a friendly and efficient service to our clients and their animals. We are a professional and personable team working in a very challenging and busy environment, which makes the role varied, interesting, and no day is ever the same!
The role involves receptionist duties such as answering phones, responding to emails, booking appointments, registering new clients, completing insurance forms, dispensing medications, taking payments, and providing a warm and welcoming experience to our clients arriving at the clinic. As Head Receptionist, you will also be responsible for managing the reception team, staff/holiday rotas, and recruitment.
We are looking for someone with excellent communication and organisational skills, as well as strong leadership abilities. Experience managing teams will be highly beneficial. Previous receptionist or customer-facing experience is essential. Veterinary industry experience would also be advantageous.
You should be able to remain calm under pressure and show empathy in all situations, from sharing the excitement of a puppy's first visit to the vets to comforting a client who has received bad news.
As a receptionist, you will have access to our Client Care Hub, a dedicated space on our Knowledge Hub for all client care resources. You will be invited to join support sessions within your first few weeks, where you will meet a Learning Partner and begin your training. Further sessions can be attended at any time in the next six months to address any questions regarding your training. This training complements the in-practice training you will receive.
The salary for this position is up to £28,000 depending on experience (pro rata).
We offer several benefits, including:
* 5 weeks annual leave plus bank holidays, with an extra day of leave each year up to 5 years of employment
* Staff benefits such as discounted gym membership, staff discount, buy & sell holiday, health plan, and more! Details are available on our careers site here.
