Description
We are seeking a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Acting to design and deliver content across a range of modules at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, support and assess learners, contribute to curriculum planning and development, and engage in research and scholarly activity.
About the Role
Within the role, you will design and deliver teaching, contribute to curriculum development, and engage in research that enhances student learning. The role involves securing external funding, building industry partnerships, and participating in recruitment and promotional activities. You will also contribute to academic networks, uphold quality standards, and support the School’s strategic goals.
We are looking for applicants with professional knowledge of performance in live and recorded media/new technologies (e.g., film & TV, audiobooks, podcasts, motion capture). An enterprising approach and entrepreneurial mindset are important, as it is key to the Acting programme’s ethos. You will be adaptable, emotionally intelligent, and understand the evolving cultural landscape of the creative industries, particularly emerging employability routes and best practices in Acting. Applications are welcome from professionals and academics with experience in Acting, or whose experience as Creative Producers and/or Directors intersects with Acting.
About You
* Extensive knowledge and experience of a range of text-based approaches to actor training in live performance and/or recorded media.
* An excellent teacher with demonstrable interest in pedagogic innovation in actor training, directing, or producing.
* Commitment to building and maintaining professional and sector networks.
* An ability to inspire learners through excellent teaching.

Additional Information
Salary Grade: Lecturer - Ac3S - Starting from £44,128 to £46,735 per annum; Senior Lecturer - Ac3A - Starting from £48,149 to £55,755 per annum.
The salary range shows the potential maximum pay progression, including annual inflationary increases. The default is to appoint at the lower end unless there are exceptional circumstances.
This is an onsite role, based at Newton Park Campus and Oldfield Park Theatre Workshops.
* Applicants with two years or less full-time equivalent teaching experience in Higher Education without a HEA-accredited Teaching and Learning Certificate will be required to complete an approved course within the first two years.
* Applicants with more than two years of experience but without HEA fellowship will need to apply for fellowship during their 6-month probation.
