Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of a new operating theatre team for Maternity. York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides care to women living in and around York, North Yorkshire and the East Coast, with an increasing demand on Caesarean Sections (elective and emergency).


Responsibilities

* Demonstrate and develop clinical assessment skills and the ability to prioritise the care for patients undergoing a surgical/anaesthetic procedure.
* Actively support patients and their families, communicating clinical information using a variety of methods, to ensure effective understanding.
* Contribute to the continuing development of patient care within the operating theatres, e.g. through sharing knowledge and expertise as required.
* Prepare and organise the clinical area to receive patients for elective and emergency procedures.
* Safely identify, prepare, check and assemble equipment required for the relevant operating list.
* Adhere to the NMC / ODP professional Code of Conduct.


Required experience / Qualifications

* We are looking for experienced Scrub Practitioners to join our Maternity operating theatre team in York and Scarborough.
* To be successful, you will need to demonstrate either 3 years' experience in Maternity Theatres OR 3 years' experience in Gynae/GI/Vascular or Urology Theatres.
* Part-time hours are available with the minimum being 23 hours per week (2 shifts per week).
