Vocational Functional Skills Tutor – Term time only, fixed term.
Location: Gloucester
Hours: Thursday & Friday, 8:45am – 4:45pm (with some flexibility), 0.5-day PPA (PPA Day Flexible)
Contract: Fixed Term until 17th July 2026, 18.75 hours per week.
Location – Q Club Quedgeley.
Salary based on 18.75 hours per week, for 8.5 months = £9812.54

Are you passionate about teaching Maths and English in ways that truly change lives? At Prospect Training Services (PTS), we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Vocational Functional Skills Teacher to deliver engaging sessions to young adults and SEN learners.

About the Role
You will:
* Deliver Functional Skills Maths and English from Entry Level to Level 2.
* Support learners aged 16–24, many of whom have SEN profiles and EHCPs.
* Prepare, deliver and assess across speaking, listening and communication examinations.
* Teach small groups, ensuring lessons are inclusive, adaptive, and engaging.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
* Level 3 (or above) Education and Training teaching qualification. QTS desirable.
* Proven experience delivering Functional Skills and GCSE Maths & English (up to Level 2).
* Strong knowledge of working with SEN and young adults, with the ability to adapt teaching methods.
* Experience with lesson planning, classroom management, and ICT-based resources.
* Excellent communication skills, with a passion for building learner confidence.
Desirable:
* Experience in preparing learners for Speaking & Listening/Communication assessments.
* Assessor Qualification (A1 or equivalent).
* Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.
* Experience with innovative, practical teaching strategies beyond the classroom.
