Courtlands Ward (Coronary Care Unit) is looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic, empathetic nurse with experience of working in an acute cardiology environment who is looking to develop their leadership and clinical skills. This is for a for a period of 12 months to cover a secondment.
The successful candidate will be someone who thrives in a busy environment and has excellent interpersonal and clinical skills. We have a busy coronary care unit and work closely with the cardiac catheter labs and recovery day case area. We care for a wide range of cardiology patients, inclusive of, but not limited to, acute coronary syndromes, heart failure, and valvular conditions.
Opportunities will be available to develop your clinical, supervision and leadership knowledge and skills. The Trust is very supportive of ongoing professional development. You will be supported to access regular CPD through in-house and external courses/modules in order to continue to develop.

This role is eligible for visa sponsorship under the UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI) Skilled Worker route however sponsorship can only be provided where applicants meet the specific requirements set by UKVI, including the relevant skill and salary thresholds (£25000), and any role-specific criteria.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be a proficient clinical practitioner who will be able to lead, influence and deliver effective care working in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team. We strive to provide high quality, effective and compassionate care to individuals, their families, and/or carers. The successful candidate will ensure that individualised care is provided through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in line with Trust policies and procedures, National guidelines, and Trust values and behaviours.
This is a leadership role, and the successful candidate will support the Courtlands Ward Manager, acting as a role model, and undertaking delegated responsibility in their absence to provide effective clinical leadership that ensures high quality person-centred care. They will possess excellent communication skills and ensure the safe and efficient management of the service within allocated resources. They will support and facilitate the development of all the staff within the team, acting as a role model.

Experience, Knowledge and Skills
Essential criteria
1. Registered Nurse with current NMC registration
2. Substantial experience as a Band 5 in acute cardiology department/ward/area
3. Teaching and assessing module or PS/PA training (or equivalent)
4. Evidence of continuing professional development
5. A/ILS provider
Desirable criteria
6. Cardiac Module(s)
7. Leadership and management training/module
8. Understanding and experience of quality improvement, including audits
9. Experience of working with Level 2/3 level patient care
