Right now, we are looking for a caring individual to lead and support our housekeeping team, promoting independence and dignity, and positively enhancing the lives of the individuals in our care.
What are we looking for:
Hours of work: 06:30/07:30am – 14:00pm
You're someone who not only cares for others but also enjoys supporting and managing a team to achieve high standards. Ideally, you have experience of working with older people and understand that keeping the home clean and safe is essential for the health and wellbeing of our residents.
You'll set the standard for your team, supporting them on challenging days and celebrating successes. You'll work alongside them, ensuring a warm, positive atmosphere, while also organising daily tasks, guiding new staff, and monitoring standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead by example and supervise the housekeeping team, ensuring high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and service.
* Support, train, and demonstrate to other staff how to maintain the standards on each shift.
* Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents, visitors, and staff.
* Oversee and participate in:
* Vacuuming, mopping floors, cleaning stairs and lifts.
* Cleaning toilets, baths, washbasins, replenishing toilet rolls, soap, and hand towels.
* Polishing and dusting furniture and fittings.
* Cleaning windows, paintwork, and walls.
* Preparing vacated rooms for new residents.
* Washing and distributing residents' laundry and clothing.
* Ensure infection control policies and correct PPE usage are followed at all times.
* Monitor housekeeping supplies and ensure stock levels are maintained.
* Record and report any breakages, hazards, or maintenance needs.
* Attend and participate in training sessions, staff meetings, and relatives' meetings.
* Assist in the collection and safe disposal of soiled linen and continence products.

What will your typical day involve?
You'll be responsible for the day-to-day management of the housekeeping team, ensuring cleanliness across the home and that tasks are carried out to a high standard. Working closely with the rest of the care home team, you will:
* Supervise and support staff in maintaining all communal areas and residents' bedrooms.
* Monitor and manage housekeeping stock for daily use.
* Use equipment provided to ensure residents' clothing and laundry are clean, fresh, and returned to their rooms.
* Encourage a positive, team-focused culture, where staff feel supported and residents feel at home.
