We are currently looking for a skilled Engineering Trainer to inspire and support learners of engineering apprentices’ programmes. You will play a key role in enabling learners to succeed by delivering high-quality teaching, training and assessment that reflects current industry practice.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineering professional with a passion for developing others, whether you are an experienced engineering trainer or an industry specialist looking to move into education. You will work closely with curriculum colleagues, support teams and employers to ensure learners develop the technical, professional and employability skills needed for their future careers.
Key responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality engineering lessons that develop learners’ knowledge, skills and behaviours.
* Prepare effective learning resources, making good use of digital tools where appropriate.
* Use a range of teaching and learning strategies tailored to different learner needs and abilities.
* Set targets, monitor learner progress and provide timely support and intervention.
* Plan, deliver and assess learning in line with awarding body and qualification requirements.
* Provide constructive feedback to learners, employers, parents and other stakeholders as required.
* Support learners’ wellbeing, working closely with student support services when necessary.
* Maintain accurate learner records using college systems.
* Keep up to date with industry developments, qualification changes and employer requirements.
* Liaise effectively with technicians, learning support assistants and curriculum team members.
* Participate in CPD to develop teaching, assessment and engineering skills.
* Qualified to at least Level 2 in an engineering-related subject.
* Qualified teacher or assessor, or willing to work towards a teaching/assessing qualification.
* Relevant engineering industry experience.
* Ability to develop and deliver high-quality teaching and training.
* Knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding.
* Experience of teaching or assessing in an engineering environment.
* Experience of teaching apprentice programmes.
