Are you looking for an interesting and varied role? An opportunity has arisen to join the Blood Sciences Department, based in Pathology at Pilgrim Hospital as a Biomedical Assistant.
We are seeking a flexible, enthusiastic, self‑organised and motivated individual to help deliver laboratory services across the Trust. The post is based in the Blood Sciences laboratory (Clinical Chemistry, Haematology and Blood Transfusion) in Pathology at Pilgrim Hospital, and involves data entry, processing and testing/analysis of blood and urine samples using automated equipment and manual processing.
Responsibilities
* Data entry, processing and testing/analysis of blood and urine samples using automated equipment and manual processing.
* Work independently once fully trained, following supervision by Biomedical Scientists.
* Maintain good communication and keyboard skills, and the ability to work under pressure.
* Participate in the 24/7 shift system.
Qualifications
* Previous clinical laboratory experience desirable.
* Good A Levels/GCSEs in Science, English and Maths, or equivalent training or experience.
