The Opportunity: Account Director
A well-established and fast-growing digital solutions provider is seeking an experienced Account Director to join its commercial leadership team.
This is a senior, revenue-generating position responsible for expanding key strategic accounts and securing new business across SME and mid-market organisations. The business delivers tailored solutions across Managed IT, Cloud, Cyber Security, Data & AI, as well as specialist CRM and ERP systems expertise.

The Role: Account Director
As Account Director, you will take ownership of a portfolio of high-value strategic accounts while driving new revenue opportunities.
Acting as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, you will develop and execute strategic account plans and lead opportunities from initial engagement through to successful close. Internally, you will collaborate closely with commercial, technical, marketing, and delivery teams to ensure sustainable and profitable growth.
You will also serve as a senior escalation point for key clients and play a visible role in strengthening the organisation’s market presence.
Key Responsibilities: Account Director
Strategic Account Leadership
Develop and execute growth strategies for key strategic clients
Create structured account plans to drive retention, cross-sell, and up-sell activity
Lead Quarterly Business Reviews and senior stakeholder meetings
Proactively manage commercial performance, service improvements, and risk
Oversee renewals, contract profitability, and long-term value creation
Maintain exceptional client satisfaction and retention levelsNew Business Development: Account Director
Identify, target, and secure new customers within defined sectors or regions
Build and execute outbound prospecting strategies (phone, email, LinkedIn, events, partnerships)
Manage inbound enquiries through to close
Develop referral partnerships across regional and industry networks
Consistently achieve monthly and annual revenue targets
Sales Execution & Pipeline Management
Own the full sales lifecycle from discovery through to contract signature
Lead consultative discovery conversations focused on business outcomes
Collaborate with presales and technical teams to design compelling solutions
Prepare proposals, commercial models, and statements of work
Navigate complex stakeholder environments and procurement processes
Maintain accurate forecasting, reporting, and CRM disciplineCollaboration & Leadership: Account Director
Ensure seamless handover from sales to delivery teams
Partner with marketing on campaigns, events, and lead nurturing initiatives
Share market insight and competitor intelligence

Essential: Account Director
Minimum 5 years’ experience in account management and/or new business sales within IT services, technology, SaaS, or managed services
Proven track record of winning new business and expanding existing accounts
Strong consultative selling approach with the ability to articulate business value at board level
Confident engaging with MDs, FDs, CIOs, and senior IT leaders
Highly organised, self-motivated, and disciplined in pipeline management and forecasting
Strong MS Word and Excel skills
Full right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)Desirable: Account Director
Experience selling Managed IT, Cloud, Cyber Security, Data & AI, CRM, or ERP solutions
Familiarity with platforms such as ConnectWise or Dynamics 365
Experience working with SME or mid-market organisations
