Senior or Principal Water Resource Consultant role at Stantec. Join to apply for the Senior or Principal Water Resource Consultant position with Stantec. We are seeking enthusiastic people with extensive experience in the water industry to contribute to our water resources planning workload across the UK and internationally.
Responsibilities
* Be involved in the planning and implementation of water resource projects, ensuring they adhere to scope, budget, timescale, quality and regulatory requirements.
* Bring experience in technical areas such as WRMPs, Regional Water Resource plans, Drought Plans, water resource models, demand management, option development, optimisation, regulatory environmental assessment (HRA, SEA, WFD, etc.), and/or development of SROs through the RAPID-led gated process.
* Maintain client-facing experience within the water industry and grow internal and external networks to achieve positive project outcomes.
* Experience running commercial projects, bids and proposals within budget.
* Support the wider Water and Environment department when required, complement other specialisms within the teams, and work flexibly on a variety of projects.
About You
* We welcome people from varied backgrounds (regulatory, water company, or consultancy) with recent experience applying knowledge of water resources in policy and technical areas.
* Experience working in fast-paced, multidisciplinary teams and collaborating with clients, statutory authorities, and stakeholders.
* Ideally involved in assessment and development of WRMPs, regional plans, SROs and/or Drought Plans.
* Experience in water resources-focused projects, including WRMPs, drought plans, regional plans, supply-demand balance components, hydrological or hydrogeological analyses, demand forecasting, options appraisal, and risk/uncertainty development.
* Experience in WINEP investigations, Environmental Destination, Water Framework Directive assessments, permitting and abstraction licensing, catchment management, climate change impact assessments, and/or options appraisals.
* 5 to 10 years of experience in the water industry.
* A degree in a relevant subject (geography, geological sciences, environmental science, civil or environmental engineering) and preferably a postgraduate degree in hydrology, hydrogeology, or water resources management.
* Active involvement with relevant institutions (e.g., CIWEM, ICE or IWater) and chartership or progress toward chartership.
