We are looking for a Trade Counter Assistant to join our small, friendly and efficient retail team. The role is predominantly shop based but there will be times when you will help around the yard and in the stores.
This role is more than serving customers in the shop. You will be involved in our timber manufactured goods, timber buildings and quoting.
If you have experience in Trade Sales or timber goods, have a passion for good customer service and a team player, this may be the role for you.
It is worth noting that many of the goods we sell have some weight to them. You will be expected to move these while restocking, picking and serving customers.
The role
The trade counter assistant is responsible for delivering excellent customer service, exceeding customer's needs and expectations. Provide advice and recommendations for products and services. Maximise sales using a proactive approach. Process customer orders efficiently and accurately. Working as part of a team and contributing to the overall success of the retail side of the business.
Responsibilities and Activities
1. Assist in the day to day retail operations.
· Assisting customers in person, by telephone, fax or email.
· Processing customer details and orders.
· Advise customers on products and services.
· Raise quotations. Fencing, timber, manufactured goods (gates, Sheds.
· Respond to enquiries or relay the enquiry to the appropriate person.
· Picking of customer's orders.
· Ensuring the shop/company standards and product displays are maintained to the highest standard possible.
· Replenish stock, rotate and clean stock on shelves.
· Inform appropriate person if stock is low.
.Prepare ancillaries for timber frame.
· Schedule deliveries.

Long hours are spent standing within the retail shop environment. Lifting of supplies and materials will be required. Occasional work in the yard area.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £28,800.00-£29,500.00 per year
