The McDonald Institute for Archaeological Research is seeking to recruit an Assistant Administrator to cover maternity leave.


Responsibilities

* Provide administrative and personal assistance to the Institute's Administrator to facilitate the efficient operation of all work undertaken.
* Lead on specific responsibilities, including financial processing, managing a popular Visiting Scholar scheme, and acting as Secretary to an internal grant awarding committee.


Qualifications and Experience

* Educated to HND/HNC, Level 4/5 vocational qualifications, or equivalent practical experience.
* Confident IT and AV skills to support events and meetings.
* Excellent organisational skills, flexible to changing demands, and enjoy problem solving and finding solutions.
* Essential experience in administration; highly desirable knowledge of University systems such as i-Procurement, Softco, Sympa, University Card, CCWS and Drupal.


Additional Information

This is a full‑time, fixed‑term position for twelve months or until the return of the post holder, whichever is earlier. Internal candidates are encouraged to apply on the basis of a secondment from their current role in the University. We particularly welcome applications from candidates from a BME background.
