The Environment & Innovation team is at the forefront of Southern Water’s drive to enhance and protect the environment. We’re excited to announce a brand-new opportunity to join our Environment & Innovation team as a Project Controller.
Job Overview
As a Project Controller within our Programme Management Office (PMO), you’ll play a key role in supporting the delivery of our investment portfolio. You’ll be responsible for providing effective and accurate schedule, cost, and risk management services across a portfolio of projects. Working closely with Investment Portfolio Managers, Programme Sponsors, and E&I functions, you’ll help shape optimised programmes of work that support efficient delivery strategies.
You’ll provide intelligence and insights to enable effective programme optimisation, risk management, and the identification of opportunities to meet corporate efficiency targets. Your work will directly support timely investment decisions and enhance performance across all aspects of our programme portfolio.
About You
You’re an experienced project management professional with a strong understanding of PMO functions and tools. You bring:
1. Proven experience in project scheduling, financial forecasting, and risk management.
2. Strong analytical skills and the ability to present complex data clearly.
3. Familiarity with project management methodologies (PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent).
4. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across functions.
5. A proactive mindset, attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
