Responsibilities
The General Manager will be responsible for delivery of the Sectors Emergency and Acute Medicine provision and patient flow model, and will be accountable for the strategic and operational delivery and development of the Service. The role is vital for both NHSGGC and the South Sector in delivery of its aims and aspirations for Better Care, Better Health, Better Workplace and Better Value.
You will report to the Director for the South Sector and have responsibility for ensuring there is a clear focus on the delivery of the range of high quality, safe and efficient patient‑centred services required to meet local and national targets.
The General Manager will, along with the Director, take forward the development of the Sector’s patient flow model linking with the other Sector General Managers to maximise resources to deliver patient care efficiently.
Qualifications and Experience
With strong influencing and leadership qualities you will be required to evidence significant experience at a senior level in operational management in a healthcare or equivalent, complex environment and will have the ability to inspire confidence and respect to lead and deliver in a politically sensitive and demanding environment.
Key to the success of these roles will be the ability to contribute to the development of a strong, patient‑focused culture which encourages initiative, individual and team responsibility and open communication.
