Rehabilitation Assistant - Major Trauma

To work alongside the established Major Trauma therapy team to provide comprehensive rehabilitation to patients within the Major Trauma Centre.
The therapy team within the Major Trauma Centre is a cohesive unit that works together to improve outcomes for Major Trauma patients.
Main duties of the job
An excellent opportunity for an experienced support worker to join the Therapy team at the University Hospital of Wales. Working as part of a dynamic team comprising Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Dieticians and Speech and Language Therapists, you will deliver early rehabilitation programmes to patients within the polytrauma ward and across the major trauma service.
The successful applicant must demonstrate an interest in rehabilitation. Excellent communication skills are key. It is important that you are a team player with a positive outlook, enthusiasm and an ability to learn and develop new skills. Previous experience in rehabilitation in an acute hospital setting would be advantageous.
The post holder will be required to work a 7‑day job plan to support the delivery of a 7‑day Physiotherapy service to the Polytrauma ward.
A full and comprehensive training programme will be available.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Qualifications
* Good command of the English language
* GCSE English Grade C or equivalent
* Evidence of further education such as a relevant NVQ, sports science degree
Experience
* Healthcare work
* Dealing with people individually or in groups
* Working within a team
* Previous therapy technician/assistant or healthcare support worker experience
* Experience within Major Trauma
* Working with older people
