Overview
We have an opportunity for a Staff Nurse to join Haven Female Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at St Ann’s Hospital. Haven Female PICU is a 5-bedded unit providing compassionate care to women in the acute phase of serious mental disorders.
Responsibilities
* Provide high-quality, compassionate care in a fast-paced PICU environment.
* Demonstrate excellent clinical skills, work as part of a multidisciplinary team, remain calm in challenging situations.
* Engage in the ward-based induction and comprehensive preceptorship for newly qualified nurses.
* Support delivery of specialised training and interventions (RAID, CBT, enhanced risk assessment, enhanced physical health interventions).
* Complete required training, including Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression course.
Qualifications and qualities
* Qualified nurse; applications from newly qualified nurses welcome.
* Strong interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and ability to work in a low-stimulus, therapeutic environment.
Training and progression
* 3-month probation with a personal development plan; supervisor meetings to identify learning needs.
