Youth Justice Support Worker - Youth Justice Service Children’s Services Solihull Youth Justice Service is a multi-agency partnership committed to preventing and reducing youth crime and anti-social behaviour across the borough. We are passionate about improving outcomes for young people and victims of crime. Within this role, you will be responsible for delivering preventative services to children and young people and their families who exhibit early risk factors of involvement in youth crime in order to improve their life chances and reduce the risk of offending. You will also contribute to the reduction of youth crime through the delivery of interventions and supervision of young people referred to the Youth Justice Service through preventative and statutory programmes. To be considered for this opportunity you will need either a relevant Level 4 qualification (or equivalent) or the ability to demonstrate substantial experience and knowledge gained in a similar role. You will also have: Experience of working with vulnerable and complex children, young people and their families to reduce the risk of exclusion Experience of effectively engaging with challenging children and young people and overcoming barriers to engagement Experience of providing support to young people and colleagues in relation to a range of sensitive and complex issues Experience of assessing children in need using standard assessment tools, Experience of delivering programmes and projects including group work An understanding of effective practice and strategies of working with children and young people demonstrating key risk factors through proven early intervention prevention and prevention work.
