Job Description
Due to increased opportunities and demand in the Energy & Natural Resources division, we are recruiting Senior Project Planners to join a diverse and supportive team during a period of significant growth. Our nuclear client is leading industry change, and we are eager to connect with individuals experienced in project planning to explore what Turner & Townsend can offer. Candidates will need to be present in our client office in Dungeness four days a week.
Main Purpose of Role
Senior Planners will support the team and senior planners on various work packages and projects of different sizes and complexities. They will be responsible for building and maintaining schedules, understanding project logic, and managing interfaces with other work packages or projects. They will liaise with stakeholders to gather data for progress updates and play a key role in managing change, ensuring projects meet time, cost, quality standards, and client objectives.
Key Responsibilities
* Create, develop, and maintain project schedules aligned with project requirements on complex, risk-managed projects.
* Follow NEC or FIDIC contract processes for schedule data management.
* Assist in developing status reports to inform management of project progress.
* Identify and reduce uncertainties, improve efficiency, and clarify project objectives.
* Work with the project team to define scope, develop detailed schedules, and identify variances.
* Help schedule work and coordinate assignments with project managers.
* Evaluate schedule progress and performance, identifying issues.
* Analyze float, critical path, and constraints to assess impacts of changes, recommending recovery actions.
* Support change management processes and procedures.
* Conduct project progress reviews and monitor KPIs.
* Understand and explain Earned Value Management (EVM) reports.
Qualifications
Professional experience in Project Controls, specializing in Planning and Scheduling across various project stages and sectors. Nuclear sector experience is preferred but not mandatory. Proficiency in Primavera (P6) and other planning software is required. Candidates must be able to obtain BPSS security clearance and possess strong communication, research, analytical, stakeholder management skills, and a desire to work in the nuclear sector.
