The Role
We’re looking for a motivated Quantity Surveyor to join our Plymouth-based team. This role covers the full project lifecycle — from pre-construction, estimating and tendering, through to on-site commercial management and final accounts. You’ll be working across diverse projects in the South West, with flexible working options available.
What You'll Do
* Supporting pre-construction activities, including preparing cost plans, feasibility studies, and budget estimates.
* Assisting with tendering processes: preparing BOQs, analysing subcontractor quotations, and compiling tender submissions.
* Preparing, managing, and monitoring project budgets and cost plans.
* Measuring and valuing works, including preparation of interim applications and final accounts.
* Managing subcontractor procurement, payments, and performance.
* Supporting contract administration and compliance (JCT and NEC contracts).
* Conducting site visits and working closely with project managers and site teams.
* Providing commercial support throughout project lifecycles, from tender through to completion.
* Identifying risks and opportunities to ensure projects are delivered to programme and budget.
Qualifications & Skills
* Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or related discipline (preferred but not essential).
* Strong analytical and numerical skills with a commercial mindset.
* Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
* Knowledge of construction contracts, particularly JCT and/or NEC.
* Proficiency in cost management software and MS Office.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
* Relevant industry experience within construction, refurbishment, or property services.
