About The Role
This role sits within the Customer Finance Directorate, working closely with the commercial team through commission business partnering. The position plays a key role in enabling effective cost control and commercial optimisation of the frontline commission scheme, partnering closely with the commercial commissions team. The role holder is central to the design and ongoing evolution of the Channel Cost per Transaction model, helping to optimise costs while informing strategic distribution and channel decisions across the business.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Cost per transaction reporting: develop, maintain, and report against targets for each channel/sub‑channel.
* Work with the wider finance teams for channel cost inputs, track actuals vs targets, perform variance analysis, and provide the narrative behind the numbers.
* Provide PowerPoint outputs for channel director reviews with further analysis and deep dives as required.
* Use data to find opportunities and areas for optimisation.
* Draw in the value reporting information to provide a rounded view of channel performance.
* Act as the finance business partner for the frontline commissions, working closely with the commercial commissions team. Involve budgeting, month‑end, flash processes, understand the scheme, conduct variance analysis, and challenge where necessary to optimise budgeted spend.
* Participate in the monthly Commission board attended by channel directors and commercial teams.
* Provide inputs into the Group transformation tracking documents on a monthly basis, with relevant commentary.
Essential Skills / Experience
* Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent).
* Attention to detail with experience of financial analysis/modelling. Critical for financial analysis and reporting, as small deviations in numbers can significantly impact business decisions and strategy.
* Stakeholder management: ability to build relationships with key stakeholders and work across multiple teams to gather information and inputs for CPT modelling.
Desirable Skills / Experience
* Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills with the ability to analyse data to conclude on next steps/recommendations.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate clear key messages, often to senior management.
* Ability to identify the root causes through financial analysis; logical thought process to decipher information.
* Proven ability to create strong links with business partners and other areas of Finance. Ability to quickly gain respect and credibility amongst peers and stakeholders.
* Ability to change direction quickly to new requests, delivering high‑quality outputs.
