About the role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Sampling Technician to join our Technical Department in Ossett. This full-time, permanent position involves coordinating the sampling and stock release processes to maintain product quality and ensure compliance with food safety standards. You will support cross-functional teams and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
This role is not laboratory-based; it focuses on coordinating samples sent to external laboratories. Prior lab experience is not necessary, but a basic understanding of microbiology or chemistry is beneficial.
You will report directly to the Quality Manager.

Key responsibilities
1. Stock Release Management
* Coordinate stock on quality hold based on production, testing, or compliance concerns
* Manage the timely release of stock once quality criteria are met
* Communicate stock status and resolve quality issues with relevant departments
1. Sampling & Testing Coordination
* Maintain and execute sampling schedules for microbiological, allergen, chemical, and nutritional testing
* Ensure proper collection, labeling, and submission of samples to labs
* Track test results and update the ERP system (SAP), initiating actions as needed
* Organize sensory taste panels to assess product quality
1. Analysis & Reporting
* Prepare trend analyses and KPI reports for continuous improvement
* Support quality audits and corrective actions
1. Additional duties
* Support food safety investigations and order consumables as required
Qualifications and skills
* Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality and safety
* Good time management and prioritization skills
* Self-motivated and capable of working independently
* Effective communication skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel
* Experience setting up sensory panels is a plus
