Job Summary:
Project Procurement Lead:
Responsible for managing procurement activities across assigned investment projects, with oversight of planning and execution at the Reading site and other locations as required. Holds strategic accountability for sourcing goods and services related to the construction of manufacturing, laboratory, and office facilities, supporting projects ranging from £5 million to £500 million.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement Procurement Execution Strategies, coordinating procurement activities throughout the project lifecycle.
* Maintain end-to-end commercial ownership of procurement, expediting, contract management, and contract closeout for:
* Goods
: Process and electrical equipment, AHUs, black utilities components, lab equipment, furniture, consumables, automation systems, and spare parts.
* Services
: Construction, piping, HVAC, electrical and cleanroom fit-out, consulting, engineering, and planning.
* Actively manage the Procurement Master Plan (PMP) to ensure timely reporting, risk identification, and mitigation during project execution.
* Collaborate closely with a wide range of stakeholders, including:
* Procurement teams (category owners, buyers, order managers, contract managers)
* Project directors, managers, engineers, and subject matter experts
* Support functions such as Quality, EHS, Legal, Finance, and HR
* External partners including EPCM, EPC, and key trade or equipment suppliers
Candidate Profile:
* Strong experience with Procurement on large CAPEX projects,
* Life science experience preferred
