Cover Personal Assistant for disabled individual East Winch, PE32 £12.389 p/h, upto 15hpw
Social care work opportunity for a Personal Assistant who will support an individual with complex and varying health needs. The role involves assisting with daily living activities, meal preparation, household tasks, fatigue management, and community participation.
Location: East Winch Village, PE32
Key responsibilities
* Assist with washing, dressing and personal hygiene
* Support meal preparation and planning
* Help with household tasks such as laundry, changing bedding and maintaining a tidy environment
* Support fatigue management and break tasks into smaller steps
* Accompany to appointments and social/leisure activities, including use of public transport
* Help with organisation and administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments
Personal Specification
Essential
* Physically active and able to walk at a wheelchair pace
* Comfortable with public transport
* Animal lover, comfortable around dogs, cats and ferrets
* Respectful of LGBTQIA+ identities, autism, ADHD and neurodivergent needs
* Professional, calm, patient and willing to learn
* Cheerful, supportive, reliable and trustworthy
* Female Personal Assistant (Schedule 9, P1 of the Equality Act 2010 applies)
Desirable
* Experience working with someone who experiences seizures
Summary Terms and Conditions
* Pay: £12.89 per hour
* Hours: up to 15 hours per week between 11.00am‑2.00pm Monday‑Friday (flexibility required). Possibility of some hours becoming permanent.
* Annual holiday entitlement equivalent to the work I would normally expect to be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks.
* Access to free Care Skills training for employed workers.
* Requires a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check (cost covered by employer).
* Requires satisfactory references from two referees, one of which must be your current or last employer.
* Completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 6 months.
