Role Overview
Lead and direct a team in developing and delivering person‑centred service, manage resources to meet service user and contract outcomes, develop staff skills and knowledge, apply tools of person‑centred planning, and embed a quality assurance framework at a service level.
Key Accountabilities
* Follow the principles of person‑centred approaches in all areas of operation.
* Be responsible for assessment, planning, monitoring, and reviewing of individual support.
* Ensure appropriate information is captured, reported, and analysed.
* Lead and manage staff to achieve high levels of performance and standards.
* Use staff skills, gifts, qualities and strengths effectively.
* Recruit, coordinate, and deploy staff resources efficiently.
* Maintain a customer‑focused ethos and excellent working relationships with other professionals.
* Provide support to staff through coaching, supervision and appraisal.
* Identify and meet staff training and development needs.
* Organise and facilitate positive team meetings.
* Promote good practice and ensure compliance with company policy, procedure and legislation.
* Maintain quality standards in service delivery and promote community connections.
* Manage internal and external reportable events and evidence quality service delivery.
* Assist the Area Manager with resource management.

Essential Criteria
Experience
* Significant experience of person‑centred planning and review.
* Significant experience of supporting people with learning disabilities and mental health needs.
* Significant experience of people management.
* Experience of leading and managing a staff team.
* Experience of undertaking staff supervisions and appraisal.
* Experience of partnership working.
* Experience of managing resources within agreed budget.
* Experience of using IT systems in the management of service and people.
Skills & Knowledge
* Knowledge of equality and anti‑discriminatory practices.
* Excellent time management, ability to plan and prioritise a complex workload.
* Ability to inspire, drive and apply person‑centred principles.
* Ability to assess, plan and monitor care to achieve individual outcomes.
* Ability to develop positive, trusting relationships with service users, families and carers.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Significant knowledge and understanding of the needs of people with mental health or learning disabilities.
* Leadership and team management skills.
* Use of person‑centred tools to develop individuals and teams.
* Apply policy and procedure to deliver quality outcomes.
* Demonstrate initiative, self‑motivation and resourcefulness.
* Effective resource management.
* Use of ICT for information, performance reporting and communication.
Qualifications & Training
* NVQ3 qualification in management or care (or equivalent) or willingness to complete within a set time.
* Training in person‑centred practices (planning, review, team development).
Other Requirements
* Willingness to work flexible hours, on call and 7 days a week including unsocial hours and weekends.
* Willingness to work 9‑day fortnight or 4.5 day week for flexible working.
* Driver’s licence; travel is part of the role.
