Your role:
Environmental Protection Officer (EPO) within the Environmental Protection Team.
Responsibilities
* Responding to planning consultations for air quality, noise and land contamination.
* Air quality monitoring, reporting and improvement initiatives.
* Environmental permitting: inspection of businesses and issuance/varying of permits.
* Management of contaminated land and private water supplies.
Qualifications and experience
* Environmental degree (Environmental Health, Environmental Science, Environmental Management or Geography).
* Extensive experience in planning consultations, especially for land contamination.
* Experience in environmental permitting and land contamination issues.
* Experience in acoustics related to environmental protection.
* Experience working in a Local Authority or private sector dealing with environmental issues such as air quality, land contamination and noise.

* Sound knowledge of environmental protection legislation and guidance.
* Strong initiative and sound judgement, able to work across a broad technical area and within varied environmental protection functions.
