Job Description
The Senior Manufacturing Manager acts as a central coordination point across Manufacturing, Engineering, and Hygiene functions, ensuring alignment of priorities, resources, and operational standards across the site. Key responsibilities include:
3. Driving operational alignment and consistency across departments and shifts
4. Monitoring and analysing site performance, identifying risks and implementing corrective actions
5. Supporting the delivery of health, safety, food safety, and compliance standards (including HACCP, GMP, and audit readiness)
6. Leading and coordinating cross-functional continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, waste reduction, and cost savings
7. Acting as a deputy to senior manufacturing leadership and supporting the delivery of site strategy and objectives
8. Providing insight into financial performance, including labour, waste, and production costs
9. Promoting strong cross-functional collaboration and resolving operational challenges impacting production performance
This is a highly visible role with significant influence at plant level, requiring the ability to balance short-term operational demands with longer-term strategic improvement initiatives.
The Successful Applicant
The ideal candidate will bring:
10. Significant experience within a food manufacturing environment at Manufacturing Manager level or above
11. Strong knowledge of food safety standards including HACCP and GMP, with relevant qualifications (e.g. HACCP Level 3, Food Hygiene)
12. Proven leadership capability, with experience influencing and coordinating cross-functional teams
13. A track record of driving operational performance, continuous improvement, and problem-solving
14. Commercial awareness, with the ability to interpret performance data and contribute to cost control and efficiency improvements
15. Excellent communication skills and the ability to challenge and support stakeholders at all levels
