The Opportunity
Laing O'Rourke are currently recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the team in central London. We have been appointed as construction partner for National Grid's Great Grid Partnership programme, which forms part of a supply chain framework that will also support infrastructure projects beyond 2030.
What will the role look like?
* Managing all commercial and quantity surveying duties across allocated work packages
* Measurement, valuation, and agreement of works
* Preparation and management of interim applications and payment certifications
* Drafting, managing, and closing out subcontracts
* Monthly cost reporting and commercial forecasting
* Preparation, management, and negotiation of claims and final accounts
* Identifying, pricing, and managing change control processes
* Advising project teams on contractual obligations, commercial risks, and opportunities
* Producing contract reviews, BPR information, and management
* Supporting project budget establishment from contract award stage
* Building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and project stakeholders
* Mentoring and supporting junior commercial team members
What skills & experience are we looking for?
* Strong knowledge of NEC contracts.
* Experience in power or major infrastructure projects.
* A degree in Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management.
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
* A practical approach to managing risk and improving commercial outcomes.
* RICS membership (desirable but not essential)
