A Catering Assistant is required for Forth Valley Royal Hospital on a 6 Month Fixed Term Contract, working 20 hours per week, 5 days over 7, with 4-hour shifts per day. The salary is £25,694.00 - £27,900.00 pro rata, depending on experience, plus Serco benefits.
The successful candidate will help prepare and provide the retail service, varied food produce, and varied menus that meet the expectations of patients, staff, and visitors in terms of quality, safety, and value for money in the retail restaurant.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing a courteous and efficient catering service to patients, staff, and visitors.
* Preparing and serving food to customers in a professional and courteous manner.
* Maintaining high food safety and cleaning standards in line with HACCP and Food safety management system.
* Operating a cash register and handling cash in accordance with the cash handling procedure.
* Maintaining food safety and hygiene standards in the work area and applying food safety procedures.
The ideal candidate will have basic skills training, such as food preparation, basic food hygiene, diet, and allergen awareness. They will also have good communication skills, good customer care skills, and be able to work to agreed standards and follow work instructions.
