Thorpe-Le-Soken are seeking a care navigator who will play a pivotal role in the experience of patients at our practice, helping them to access the right services and dealing with their queries face-to-face, online and by telephone. This position is offered on a part-time basis for 18 hours per week. The successful candidate will work Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, working 6 hour shifts each day, across our 2 practices, Thorpe and Kirby Surgery on Reception. Shifts can be discussed at interview. You will be working in a very busy and quite often demanding environment where f lexibility is a priority to cover additional hours during holiday/sickness absence of colleagues to keep the surgery running efficiently. The main responsibilities of the role include: Greeting and directing all patients. Making appointments. Answering calls, queries and complaints from patients and outside agencies. Scanning letters. Accepting, issuing and handing out prescriptions, letters, completed forms, specimen bottles, etc. Advising patients of practice procedures. Assisting patients on Accrx patient online triage Signposting patients to other services such as GP Care advisor, social prescriber. General administration. Previous applicants need not apply. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated team player who has patient experience, offers excellent communication skills, and has the following attributes: Ability to work in a polite, confidential and discreet manner, respecting patients and colleagues at all times. Excellent communication and organisational skills. Able to work under pressure which is essential. Previous experience of working in primary care and knowledge of EMIS web would be desirable but not essential as full training will be given. Experience of working with the general public, being sensitive and empathic in distressing situations. Ability to work as part of a team.
