Head of IT – AWS / Network Security (FTC → Perm)

I'm currently recruiting on behalf of a pioneering cloud-native media technology startup that’s transforming how content is created, secured, and delivered globally across VFX and post-production.
We’re looking for a Head of IT – AWS / Network Security to join on an initial 6-month FTC, with the clear intention to convert to a permanent role. This is a high-impact, hands-on leadership position at the intersection of infrastructure, cybersecurity, and creative technology.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Lead secure design, implementation, and scaling of hybrid infrastructure (on-prem, AWS)
Own end-to-end network security (VPNs, VLANs, Zero Trust, firewalls)
Implement cybersecurity protocols aligned with MPA, TPN, and studio standards
Oversee IAM, endpoint protection, encryption, and threat monitoring
Support global remote teams and creative tools (Resolve, Adobe, ShotGrid, etc.)
Automate IT ops and user provisioning (scripting in Python, Bash, or PowerShell)
About You:
~5+ years in IT infrastructure and/or cybersecurity (M&E or VFX background a bonus)
~ Proven experience managing secure, cloud-native and hybrid environments (esp. AWS)
~ Strong networking and security fundamentals (firewalls, IAM, routing, DNS)
~ Confident across Windows, macOS, Linux
~ Experience with creative production environments a plus
