Will be Responsible for designing, creating, and decorating cakes for various occasions, such as birthdays and other special events as well as creating pastries and traybakes for our store counter and outlet stores. They will work to create designs, and then execute those designs using various techniques and materials like icing, fondant, and edible decorations. They will also need to be up to date with current bakery trends to come up with new and innovative ideas as well as learning to decorate our longstanding classics. Cake decorators also handle tasks like inventory management, and maintaining a clean workspace.
Responsibilities
* Decorating: Applying frosting, icing, fondant, and other decorations to create the desired look.
* Inventory Management: Keeping track of ingredients and supplies, and ordering more as needed.
* Maintaining Work Area: Ensuring the decorating station is kept clean.
Skills and Qualifications
* Baking and Pastry Knowledge: Understanding of baking techniques and different frosting and icing methods.
* Time Management: Ability to manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
* Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
* Artistic and Creative Ability: A strong sense of design, colour, and aesthetics.
* A passion for pastry and learning new skills as well as staying up to date with new trends and flavour combinations
