Vice President, Product Development

Mastercard Prepaid Management Services (MPMS) delivers end-to-end prepaid program management and platform capabilities across multiple geographies and regions. MPMS operates and evolves scalable prepaid platforms that enable innovative consumer and commercial use cases across travel, gifting, everyday spend, and other verticals, serving both traditional and non‑traditional clients.


Overview

The Vice President, Product Management – Product is a senior leadership role within MPMS, accountable for defining and executing product strategy and overseeing the ongoing evolution of MPMS prepaid products. As a key member of the MPMS leadership team, this role acts as the Product Head, driving growth, enabling new customer opportunities, and ensuring disciplined product delivery across markets.


Role

* Lead the Product Management function for MPMS technology platforms, acting as the Lead of Product Managers and partnering closely with business stakeholders to define and evolve the product roadmap.
* Own the overall product vision across product lines, ensuring alignment with business growth targets.
* Define and execute product strategies that drive sustainable growth across existing and new customers, markets, and use cases.
* Identify, evaluate, and prioritise product enhancements and development opportunities to support both short and long‑term business objectives.
* Own the commercial performance of MPMS products, including contribution to revenue growth, cost efficiency, investment prioritisation, and value realisation, in partnership with Finance and Commercial leadership.
* Partner closely with regional product leads ensuring alignment in strategy, roadmap, and emerging trends.
* Champion the customer and client voice within MPMS product decision‑making, incorporating direct feedback, market insight, and client needs into roadmap prioritisation and product evolution.
* Partner with cross‑functional teams including architecture, engineering, and business analysis to ensure high‑quality and timely delivery across the full Software Development Lifecycle.
* Proactively manage cross‑functional dependencies and trade‑offs across Technology, Operations, Risk, Legal, Compliance, and Commercial teams to ensure timely and well‑governed delivery.
* Own the end‑to‑end process from Ideation to Product Readiness, in close coordination with product development, ensuring all operational, commercial, and risk considerations are addressed prior to customer delivery.
* Serve as the product subject‑matter expert, supporting complex technical discussions with internal stakeholders and external clients.
* Define and map the key building blocks for prioritised opportunities, including target operating models, product propositions, and implementation requirements.
* Manage the product roadmap and align with Product backlog owners, ensuring transparent prioritisation and effective collaboration and communication across stakeholders.
* Own product‑level accountability for third‑party and ecosystem integrations, including governance, risk assessment, and ongoing performance management.
* Define and own product success metrics and KPIs, ensuring transparent reporting of progress, risks, and outcomes to MPMS and enterprise stakeholders.
* Carry executive accountability for product governance, risk ownership, and council leadership across MPMS, ensuring disciplined decision‑making, regulatory alignment, and safe, scalable product evolution.
* Ensure effective change management, adoption, and enablement for internal teams and clients as new product capabilities are introduced.
* Support the integration of external providers and partners into MPMS platforms.
* Act as the senior product representative in regulatory, audit, and enterprise assurance discussions related to MPMS products.
* Provide executive product leadership during major incidents, issues, or delivery challenges, ensuring clear ownership, timely decision‑making, and effective stakeholder communication.
* Define and evolve the MPMS Product Management operating model and capability roadmap, ensuring the organisation has the skills, capacity, and structure required to support future growth.
* Lead, coach, and develop a team of experienced Product Managers and Product Owners, establishing strong delivery discipline and acting as a change agent across the MPMS product organisation.


All About You – Experience & Expertise

* Significant experience in Prepaid, or deep expertise within the payments and financial services industry.
* Proven experience leading product development initiatives, including delivery of innovative products and segment‑based solutions.
* Strong understanding of the payments value chain and the key economic, regulatory, and technology drivers shaping the industry.
* Demonstrated experience delivering products and features that enhance customer and end‑user experience through emerging technologies.
* Extensive experience operating within Agile / SAFe software development methodologies.
