Salary: Leadership Scale L16 – L20 £75,049 to £82,654 per annum
Rugeley John Taylor School, part of John Taylor MAT, is proud to be growing the only 'all-through' school within our Trust family. Having opened our doors to our first cohort of Year 7 students in September 2025, we are continuing to build a school that will serve local communities from the earliest years right through to Sixth Form, offering a 'gold standard' learning experience which empowers and supports students at each stage of their education. As we expand, we continue to embed the core features of John Taylor MAT that have become a hallmark of its success: challenging the most able, outstanding quality of teaching, a taught curriculum of the highest quality, and an enrichment offer and pastoral system we believe is second to none.
We are seeking an inspirational and ambitious Deputy Headteacher to help shape the development of our recently opened school. Working closely with the Executive Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team, this pivotal role will drive school improvement, support staff development, and influence curriculum and pastoral provision and strategic decision making within the secondary phase of our school. We are looking for a values driven leader who inspires and motivates others, brings clarity and confidence to challenge, and fosters a culture in which both staff and students can flourish. Specific Responsibilities And Skills Include
Support the Executive Headteacher in delivery of the school vision for all learners
Further develop a values-driven school through setting expectations and the promotion of Teacher Standards
Be a strategic thinker with ambition and drive
Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills that ensure everyone feels valued, supported and challenged to do and be their best – collegiality within the school and across the Trust is key
