Role overview
We are seeking a proactive and adaptable HR & Office Administrator to join our team. This is a full-time, office-based role (Monday to Friday) combining HR administration, office support, and people operations. The ideal candidate will have a proven background in HR, office administration, or a similar role - ideally within the renewables or technical sectors. You'll play a key part in supporting the company's talent acquisition and people operations, ensuring a smooth experience for both candidates and employees.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage end-to-end recruitment processes, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, and onboarding
* Collaborate with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develop effective sourcing strategies
* Oversee employee probation periods, including setting objectives, monitoring progress, and conducting reviews
* Provide guidance and support on employment issues such as performance management, absence, grievances, and disciplinary procedures
* Maintain accurate HR records, support payroll processing, and coordinate employee benefits administration
* Act as the first point of contact for HR-related queries from employees
* Support the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures
* Assist with compliance and regulatory reporting as required
* Organize training, development, and employee engagement initiatives
* Coordinate office administration tasks, including scheduling, document management, and supporting senior management
* Book staff accommodations (e.g., using Airbnb) and manage travel arrangements as required
* Accurately file and save documents in the correct folders, maintaining an organized digital and physical filing system
* Confidently use spreadsheets for data entry, reporting, and analysis
* Utilize BrightHR software to its full functionality for HR management tasks
* Respond promptly to calls and emails, ensuring a professional and courteous manner at all times
* Conduct yourself in a positive and professional manner when interacting with customers, clients, and colleagues
* Contribute to a positive, inclusive workplace culture
Candidate Profile
* Previous experience in HR administration, office management, or a similar role (experience in the renewables/energy sector highly desirable)
* Demonstrated ability to manage probationary periods and address employment-related issues
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
* Proficient with systems, BrightHR, spreadsheets (e.g., Microsoft Excel), and Microsoft Office Suite
* Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
* Flexible and adaptable approach; comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
* CIPD qualification or equivalent (advantageous but not essential)
* Must be able to work full-time, Monday to Friday, on site in the West Midlands office
