Overview

Talbot House Children’s Charity are looking to recruit a passionate and experienced Teacher for KS1 & KS2.

The applicant must hold QTS, with completed ECT induction (NQT). We are unable to consider any further Early Career Teachers with incomplete inductions at this time. The applicant must have excellent knowledge of the curriculum, classroom management skills and high expectations for all pupils to achieve their potential. The suitable applicant must have experience of working with SEN pupils with complex needs, including SEMH, ASD, ADHD, Trauma and attachment, some of whom may have multiple needs. We are a non-maintained specialist school with pupils ranging from Reception 1 to Key Stage 4. Class sizes are rarely bigger than 6 pupils.

Responsibilities

* Deliver high-quality teaching and learning for KS1 and KS2 pupils, including SEN pupils with complex needs.
* Maintain high expectations for pupil progress and behaviour, and manage classrooms effectively.
* Collaborate with a specialist school team to support pupils with SEMH, ASD, ADHD, trauma and attachment difficulties.
* Contribute to a bright and modern environment with opportunities to engage in creativity and enrichment activities.


Qualifications

* QTS with completed ECT induction (NQT).
* Experience of working with SEN pupils with complex needs; SEMH, ASD, ADHD, trauma and attachment.
* Knowledge of the curriculum and strong classroom management skills.


Hours, Salary and Start Date

* Hours: 39 hours per week during term time. Monday to Thursday 8:00am–4:00pm, Friday 8:00am–3:00pm (alternatives available: Monday to Thursday 8:30am–4:30pm, Friday 8:30am–3:30pm).
* Note: On occasion, staff may be required to attend outside of these hours (e.g., GCSE results day).
* Salary: salary equivalent to M1 to M6; salary and progression will be discussed at interview.
* SEN allowance: part allowance available; further details will be provided to interviewed candidates.
* Start date: As soon as possible, subject to notice period requirements.
