Older Persons Mental Health Nurse
We are looking for experienced or newly qualified Mental Health Nurses with sound knowledge and skills to join our staff nurses on Brooker Ward, a 22‑bed unit for people living with dementia and mental illness. You will work as part of a team to provide effective care and treatment for our Older Person Mental Health acute admission ward at St James' Hospital in Portsmouth.

You need to be a motivated practitioner with a passion for older persons mental health. You will play an important role in delivering excellent patient care and developing our service in line with national and local guidance.
You will be a positive role model, coach and mentor junior colleagues and students, providing supervision and engagement.
Applicants must have the right to work in the UK. We are currently unable to offer Skilled Worker visa sponsorship.

* Meet the needs of patients and families to achieve improved health outcomes and promote health and wellbeing, demonstrating care, compassion, competence, communication, courage, and commitment.
* Provide care based on comprehensive assessment, ensuring continuity and patient/client‑centred, culturally sensitive and evidence‑based care that promotes independence.
* Develop and maintain a culture of service improvement that promotes quality and safety and strives to do better.
* Abide by the NMC code which requires all registered nurses to: prioritise people; practice effectively; preserve safety; promote professionalism and trust.

Salary
£32,073 to £39,043 a year. For part‑time hours the salary will be pro rata.
