Who you’ll be supporting & more about the role:

The people we support at this service need a team who can support them with their day to day lives, including support with medication, moving & positioning, eating & drinking, personal care, communication, and anything else they request. They all mobilise using wheelchairs, so they need support from you with moving around.

Their home has a communal garden and two communal lounges, which everyone makes use of. They have a big swing in the garden, everyone loves to use it and thinks its very funny. They also have a sensory room which is very relaxing and they all like to spend time in there.

What is important

The people we support all get along with each other really well and enjoy spending time together.
They have a lot of different interests such as going to a café for coffee and cake, going to the cinema, oceanarium, long walks along the beach, going out for dinner and much more.

The people we support often like to use their cars to go out and about, so being a driver with a full UK Manual licence is a real bonus!

Your values:

We know it takes a special person to work in social care and we recognise that not everyone that would be perfect for the role, will have professional experience. This is why we're really passionate about recruiting to individuals’ values and we recruit people from all walks of life; From people with vast experience in a support worker or care assistant role, from people with lived experiences who may have friends or relatives with disabilities or have looked after older relatives, to people with no experience at all.

Naturally it is important too that you share our company values - We Include; We Deliver; We Aspire; We Respect; We Enable, which are at the heart of everything we do and ensure that we deliver high quality, consistent care and support. People's values are important to use, so we look for people with:

- Patience
- Empathy, compassion and sensitivity to others
- A strong work ethic
- Reliability
- Honesty
- Determination - A problem solver
- Resilience
