About our visitor attraction centre
Our Visitor Attraction site at Lisvane and Llanishen opened in 2023, in the North of Cardiff, and is open all year round! This is an exciting opportunity for anyone wishing to join Welsh Water. The site features a state-of-the-art Visitor Attraction building with a 150-cover restaurant, balcony with views over reservoirs, group and cubicle changing rooms, land and water-based activities, education space, bird hides & islands, meeting rooms, and a Grab & Go.

What you’ll be responsible for
Our kitchen team creates memorable experiences through delicious food. We value teamwork, a positive attitude, and a willingness to work hard while having fun.
We are looking for colleagues with a shared passion for food, with some basic kitchen experience preferred, but full training is available for the right candidates.
Duties:
* Prepare, cook, and serve meals; manage and organize team members to deliver high-quality service
* Design menus to maximize gross margin
* Supervise and train colleagues to ensure excellent service
* Ensure safety and hygiene standards are met
* Order kitchen supplies from designated suppliers
* Maintain HACCP records
* Develop and improve the customer experience
* Maintain kitchen cleanliness and food safety standards
* Engage with customers as a Welsh Water ambassador

About you
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
* Experience in catering and kitchen supervision
* Health & safety and food safety knowledge
* Customer service experience in catering/retail
* Ability to work independently and manage a team

This is a zero-hours contract with work available during school holidays and winter. The role involves weekend day shifts, starting in the morning and ending late afternoon.
