Salary: £46,148 - £52,809 FTE DOE (Pro Rata) plus £1 per hour location allowance
Hours: 30 hours a week Flexible working hours available.
The Service:
Kerwin Court delivers specialist neuro rehabilitation to adults with an acquired brain injury in a residential setting just outside of Broadbridge Heath. You will be working with a team of rehabilitation support workers alongside a multi-disciplinary team of occupational therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists and speech and language therapists.
Brainkind is looking for a Senior Specialist Physiotherapist who wants to develop their experience by working in our highly regarded service at Kerwin Court; providing strategic, professional leadership to the multi-disciplinary rehabilitation team.
Main duties of the job
To work as a specialist within the multi/interdisciplinary team providing physiotherapy input within the BIRT neurobehavioural model to people we support with acquired brain injury, across the three Brainkind pathways: Neurobehavioural, Neurorestorative, and Well-being. To lead and develop specialist physiotherapy provision within the service. To liaise with internal and external professionals, relevant organisations, family members and people we support. To act as a positive professional role model, and to pro-actively support the clinical leadership team to achieve Brainkind Objectives.

Job responsibilities
To undertake comprehensive neurological assessments, analyses, andtreatment plans.
To deliver effective treatment plans and progress/adjust according to thePeople We Support response, multi/inter disciplinary team discussion, andother influencing factors.
To ensure that treatment plans are informed by the best evidence and practiceguidelines.
To provide specialist professional advice and support for complex cases, andlead on complex clinical problem-solving.
To lead on a specialist area of interest within the wider physio team, inagreement with clinical lead.
To work pro-actively as part of the multi/inter disciplinary team providingphysiotherapy input within the BIRT neurobehavioral/ neuropsychologicalmodel.
To provide specialist physiotherapeutic interventions across the three Brainkind pathways: Neurobehavioural, Neurorestorative, and Well-being.
To work safely with people we support with challenging behaviours i.e. verbaland physical aggression, mental health disorders, and sexual inhibition.
Person Specification
Requirements
* Full Driving licence and willingness to drive people we support in unit vehicles.
* Ability/willingness to travel and stay overnight to meet the operation need.
* Ability to work flexible hours within reason to meet the needs of people we support.
Qualifications
* Degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent.
* Registered with the HCPC.
* Practice Placement qualification or willingness to undertake this qualification within the first year.
Experience
* Extensive experience of working with people we support with neurological deficits, including acquired brain injury.
* Experience of performing complex physiotherapy assessments and interventions in ABI rehabilitation.
* Knowledge and application of physiotherapy principles in neurorehabilitation.
* Specialist knowledge of principles in neurophysiotherapy.
* Minimum of 4 years post registration with at least 2 years in neurological rehabilitation or in a related field such as learning disabilities, MSK, mental health.
