Ulverston Golf Club operates as a Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC) with a separate trading subsidiary responsible for bar, catering, and events activity. We are seeking a reliable and detail-focused Accounts Executive to manage the day-to-day finance operations across both entities.
This is a part-time role of approximately 24 hours per week, with very flexible working. The role would particularly suit return-to-work candidates, those seeking a better work–life balance, or semi-retired finance professionals looking for a valued, hands-on position in a community-focused organisation.
You will report directly to the General Manager, working closely with the external accountants, with a supportive and well-structured workload.

Key responsibilities
* Managing purchase and sales ledgers for both the CASC and trading subsidiary
* Posting income from member subscriptions, green fees, bar, catering, and events
* Preparing and maintaining bank, intercompany and VAT reconciliations
* Monitoring cashflow and assisting with budgeting and forecasts
* Assisting with month-end close, including journals, accruals, and prepayments
* Preparing management reports and supporting analysis for the GM and committee
* Responding to supplier, member, and internal finance queries
* Helping improve finance processes, controls, and reporting over time
About you
* Proven experience in an accounts or finance role
* Comfortable using Excel and Sage (QuickBooks or Xero) accounting systems
* Organised, accurate, and reliable
* Able to work independently and meet routine deadlines
* Looking for a flexible, part-time role with responsibility and a broad finance remit
Desirable
* Experience with month-end management accounts and VAT management.
* Experience across multiple entities or intercompany transactions
* Part-qualified or qualified (AAT / ACCA / CIMA)
* Experience in a club, charity, or hospitality environment
