We are leaders in supporting energy infrastructure, DCO, Grid connections and interconnector projects Our UK and Ireland based teams are structured across all sectors delivering services from Site Selection, Planning and Land Assembly, Engineering through to Site Delivery. In Scotland Energy forms a major part of our portfolio with services covering Transition, Transmission and Distribution and Renewable Power Generation, across Advisory, Planning & Consenting, Engineering and Asset Management. We have developed a particularly strong focus of supporting clients in the energy sectors such as onshore and offshore wind, nuclear, hydrogen, carbon capture utilisation and storage, energy transmission and distribution, solar renewables and battery storage. Our clients include National Grid, Northern Power Grid, EDF, SSE, Scottish Power and Scottish Power Renewables, BP, EDF Energy, RWE, National Gas, Grid, Eni UK and many more. The successful candidate will be client-focused with experience of leading and delivering projects. It would be advantageous for the candidate to have a strong understanding of the transmission and distribution sector. A little more about your role… Provide visible and credible senior leadership across key Scottish markets. Ability to strengthen the organisation’s presence for energy projects in Scotland. Likely to act as a Key Account Exec Sponsor or Manager for important regional accounts. Act as a senior point of contact for Scottish clients, including developers, public bodies, supply‑chain partners and regulators, building long‑term trusted relationships. Support and lead client engagement across Scotland, including early‑stage discussions, strategic advisory roles, framework relationships and project delivery and act as the facilitator for the wider WSP team. Champion local delivery, local capability and community engagement, ensuring projects are supported by appropriately located teams and partners where possible. Represent the business in Scottish industry forums, working groups and events, positioning the organisation as a committed, long‑term partner in key sectors. Support the growth and development of Scottish‑based advisory, planning, and engineering talent, encouraging career pathways, mentoring and integration with wider UK and global teams. Work with WSP Sector Leads and Client account leads along with MarComs teams to drive a focused approach to markets and clients. Provide senior project leadership and direction across the Energy portfolio. Expected utilisation approximately 20%. The successful candidate will be part of the UK Leadership Team. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for this post which will also include exposure to both internal and external clients. What we will be looking for you to demonstrate… Degree level qualification Chartered status. Experience of leading Energy (or similar Sector) projects, working with multi-disciplinary teams. Knowledge of WSP’s history and key business lines including an understanding of the competitive environment and regional players along with an understanding of government policy.
