The Head of Insurance Product will support the end-to-end performance, development, and governance of the insurance product portfolio. This role ensures products deliver sustainable growth, excellent customer outcomes, and strong commercial performance while maintaining underwriting discipline and regulatory compliance. This 12-month secondment accelerates capability in product leadership, commercial strategy, data-driven decision-making, and cross-functional influence. Principal Accountabilities
* Product Performance & Growth – Own portfolio performance across GWP, income, loss ratio, and policy count while driving pricing and product competitiveness.
* Retention & Customer Outcomes – Lead retention strategy and ensure products deliver good customer outcomes aligned to Consumer Duty.
* Product Governance & Regulatory Alignment – Support the Product Review framework and ensure robust oversight, MI, and fair value assessments.
* Sales Funnel & Conversion Optimisation – Improve quote-to-sale conversion through digital optimisation and test-and-learn experimentation.
* Cross-Functional Leadership – Build strong relationships across underwriting, digital, operations, marketing, and data to drive shared ownership.
* Oversee Marine Team – Drive performance through Marine Underwriting Manager across 3 Ripe boat products to deliver required KPIs and growth.

* Considering the value of the core product plus any ancillary or additional products sold with it.
* Ensuring that adequate record keeping is in place to record all assessments and outcomes.
* Ensuring adequate monitoring is in place to ensure that products continue to provide fair value to customers.
* Ensuring that there are adequate controls in place for the product approval process.
Consumer Understanding
* Collaborating with teams across the business to drive a culture of transparency and accuracy in the way that information is communicated to ensure it is clear, fair and not misleading in manner.
* Influencing the development of user-friendly tools to promote consumer understanding.
Consumer Support
* Overseeing the management of Claims to ensure they are managed fairly and in line with customer requirements.
* Ensuring all products provide consumers with products about which they can make informed decisions.
* Ensuring all products allow consumers to pursue their financial objectives.
* Ensuring that all platforms provide customers with easy access to policies, relevant information, and support services to manage their insurance needs effectively.
Ensuring Fair Customer Treatment
* Having sight of all operations and decisions across the company in order to influence and ensure fair treatment of customers, including efficient claims handling and personalised customer interactions.

* Demonstrable experience in underwriting or product in the insurance industry
* A proven track record of gaining commercial outcomes whilst maintaining FCA compliance
* A credible background in working with cross-functional leadership
