It holds critical data relating to finance, assets, customers and business processes. It is the heart of our IT business landscape and underpins the business operations. Protecting this data from fraud and misuse is a top priority for the business. The availability and integrity of information is vital to our water operations, as well as our customer and support services. The SAP Security and Authorisations Analyst is responsible for ensuring the management of access and authorisations within the SAP environments operate effectively and in a risk managed manner. Collectively the team ensure that new or changes to users are provisioned on a ‘least risk’ principle and that the access provided does not create excessive risk. The purpose of this role is to ensure that the risk of fraud and misuse of data held in SAP is minimised and is managed appropriately through the design, build and provisioning of appropriate access that fully meets the needs of our customers. The SAP Security and Authorisations analyst will work with outsourced IT specialists, project teams and AW business managers to analyse any risks associated with their area of the business then design and develop SAP Security authorisation concepts based on SAP best practice and business policies. The risk to key business processes are identified, managed and reported through GRC tooling and the team engage colleagues in all departments to assist them in the management of their own risks. The work the team does is primarily operationally focussed with some elements of support to projects and change initiatives. This can entail reviewing project/change documents, analysing & understanding the risks associated with application security exposures and provide solutions to eliminate or reduce these exposures. Ensure projects deliver solutions that will fit into the business-as-usual process without adding more risk. This role would also be expected to work on the continuous improvement of SAP security support processes. What will you be doing? As a SAP Security and Authorisations Analyst, you'll play a pivotal role in designing and administering secure access across Anglian Water’s SAP landscape. You'll: Collaborate with solution architects and consultants to design robust SAP security solutions aligned with business needs and cyber security standards. Act as the SAP Security SME across projects, reviewing change impacts, testing security controls, and ensuring compliance with GDPR and SOD guidelines. Drive improvements in user provisioning, role management, and system controls to reduce risk and boost efficiency. Oversee access management, including reviewing and provisioning user access, supporting audit requirements, and maintaining system integrity across SAP environments. Manage the Central User Administration (CUA) system and perform regular system housekeeping to maintain a secure and compliant SAP environment. What does it take to be a SAP Security and Authorisations Analyst?
