Children's SLT Team and Clinical Lead Early Years Complex Care – Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust, Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin area (Shrewsbury campus).
Band 7, permanent, full-time with flexible working. Salary £46,148 to £52,809 per annum. Travel across Shropshire and Telford may be required. Applications welcome from SLTs seeking flexible working.
Job Summary
Are you an experienced Speech and Language Therapist looking to develop your clinical and team leadership skills? This role provides an opportunity to lead the early years complex needs service across Shropshire Telford and Wrekin and to contribute to longer term planning for the ongoing design of service delivery. The role may involve developing an all-ages (0-19) complex needs support service to mainstream schools, or a place-based wider early years speech, language and communication needs service supporting HVs and Family Hubs. The balance of clinical and leadership time will be discussed with the successful candidate. Systems are in place for professional support across Children\'s Therapy Teams and Child Development Centres, with commitment to personal development and supervision.

Main duties
* Part of the management and clinical leadership team developing, delivering, and evaluating the Children\'s Speech and Language Therapy Service in line with service specifications determined by Commissioners.
* Provide clinical leadership for the service for young children with Complex Speech, Language and Communication Needs.
* Work in partnership with parent/carers, professionals, and organisations to deliver a model of care that improves health, social and education outcomes and reduces inequalities in access to services.
* Be responsible for all issues relating to clinical practice alongside other Team and Clinical Leads and relevant managers of Children\'s Services.

Essential Qualifications and Experience
* Health Professionals Council license to practice as a Speech and Language Therapist
* Registered with the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists
* Master’s level specialist training or advanced experiential training within the field
* Qualification in management studies or equivalent leadership experience (willing to undertake training)
* Significant post-registration experience in children\'s SLT with complex needs, including caseload management
* Experience in risk assessment and management and in delivering/coaching training programs
* Budget management experience or willingness to undertake training
* IT skills, data analysis, and ability to interpret national policies relevant to young children\'s SLT and safeguarding
* Line management experience and HR knowledge
* Travel ability to meet post requirements

* UK professional registration in SLT
* Disclosure and Barring Service check per policy
* Eligibility for UK Skilled Worker sponsorship (if applicable) and ability to provide overseas criminal records if required
