The Role: As our Senior Financial Accountant, you will be a cornerstone of the Hive Support Services finance function, covering a diverse mixture of business types, from catering and cleaning to recruitment. You will be responsible for 4 finance professionals, taking the lead on ensuring strong financial governance for a variety of internal and external stakeholders, including general managers, owners, regulators, bankers, and auditors. If you are a collaborative leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and isn't afraid to be hands-on, you'll fit right in. 40 hours per week 52 weeks per year £50,000 - £55,000 per annum Key Responsibilities: Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop a dedicated team of 4-5 finance professionals. Statutory Reporting & Compliance: Support the preparation of annual accounts, VAT returns, P11D forms, and national statistics submissions, while actively liaising with tax authorities. Balance Sheet Integrity: Take full ownership of the general ledger and ensure the timeliness and high quality of monthly balance sheet reconciliations. F inancial Controls: Continuous monitoring, strengthening, and improvement of internal financial controls and processes. Payroll & Pensions: Oversee and validate payroll processing (including uploads to internal billing systems) and manage multiple pension scheme arrangements across our diverse business lines. Banking & Cashless Liability: Oversee multiple bank accounts (including payment processing and approvals) and manage internal reporting and control for monthly client cashless liability positions. Ad-Hoc Projects: Champion various financial projects as our business continues to expand. What You'll Bring Qualifications & Technical Skills: Qualified Accountant with 3 years of Post-Qualified Experience (PQE) in finance roles. Advanced Excel skills (pivots, VLOOKUPs, etc.) and strong analytical capabilities. Experience using SAP is a distinct advantage, though not essential. Key Attributes: The ability to translate complex financial data into simple, actionable insights for stakeholders at all levels. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment and willing to roll up your sleeves when needed. Exceptional attention to detail combined with a highly collaborative approach to working across different departments.
