Job Description: DIO is the agent for Estate Management and Infrastructure works delivery for the USVF in the UK, under the terms of the 1973 UK & US Cost Sharing Arrangement and the 1951 NATO Status of Forces Agreement (SoFA) and is bound by those agreements and arrangements to deliver all infrastructure works including additional works services (AWS), as required by USVF. The DIO is mandated by the Secretary of State to provide the capability to undertake AWS projects at several locations both on the UK and USVF estate in support of the UK Armed Forces and their allies. DIO RD USVF operate within a centralised Head Office at RAF Wyton and 2 regions East and West which span 6 major sites: RAF Lakenheath, RAF Mildenhall in the East Region, RAF Alconbury, RAF Croughton, RAF Fairford and RAF Menwith Hill in the West Region. External recruits who join the MOD who are new to the Civil Service will be subject to a six-month probation period. Please Note: Expenses incurred for travel to interviews will not be reimbursed. Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance. Ensuring effective & efficient delivery and management of major and high-profile projects, addressing changing customer requirements, and updating the Command Infrastructure Development Plan (CIDP). Ensure changes are appropriate and technically robust. Developing strong and positive relationships within the team and with customers and contractors, supporting effective communications and delivery of services. Understand and act on customer and DIO priorities. Develop and manage your customer's priorities, issues, projects, and constraints, ensuring delivery of objectives. Pre-emptively identify emerging constraints and risks within projects, communicate the trends for attention and develop proposed resolution. Developing Business Cases for DIO authority scrutiny. Attending and chairing customer liaison meetings, acting on customer feedback, establishing, and delivering action plans for systemic issues within projects. Collaborating with the Core, Technical and Assurance leads to ensure compliance with DIO policies and practices and technical advice. Producing high quality and accurate reports covering contractor performance, risks, and issues. Developing and delivering annual assurance plans ensuring compliance with legislation. Managing and assuring service delivery, meeting customer needs, and achieving value. Identifying and developing efficiency and opportunities for improvement. You will not be eligible and will not be considered for this post if you have been dismissed from a role for such unacceptable behaviours within the last five years. This will also apply if you resign or otherwise leave a role but, because of an adverse decision, would have been dismissed for gross misconduct had you continued in that employment.
