Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Health Records Clerical Officer to join our busy team, providing administrative support within Health Records. This permanent position is well suited to an individual that is looking to gain hands on experience in a busy and thriving, supportive workplace. Working Monday to Friday you will primarily be based at Queen Margaret Hospital, Dunfermline but depending on needs of the service may be required to provide cover at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy. The Health Records Department provides multi-hospital / multi-section comprehensive 24-hour Health Records Service across Fife incorporating Clinical Coding, Information Management, Inpatient Services, Emergency Department, Minor Injuries Unit, Records Libraries, Scanning, Subject Access Requests, Outpatients, Waiting Times, Overseas Visitor Status and NHS Fife Switchboard.


Responsibilities

* Provide administrative support within Health Records.
* Based at Queen Margaret Hospital, Dunfermline with potential cover at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy as required.
* Support a multi-hospital / multi-section Health Records Service across Fife, including areas such as Clinical Coding, Information Management, Inpatient Services, Emergency Department, Minor Injuries Unit, Records Libraries, Scanning, Subject Access Requests, Outpatients, Waiting Times, Overseas Visitor Status and NHS Fife Switchboard.
* Prioritise and manage the day-to-day workload in a busy, fast-paced environment.
* Follow instructions clearly and effectively and work on your own initiative with minimal supervision when required.
* Maintain good organisational and listening skills and adopt a flexible approach to working.
* Demonstrate a good level of English language competency and strong communication skills to perform the role safely and effectively.


Qualifications / Experience

* Previous Admin / Clerical experience, preferably in a Health Records department, is desirable.
* Knowledge of GDPR and confidentiality is preferred.
* Ability to prioritise workloads and work independently with minimal supervision.
